Im a history addict by nature, especially when it comes to long-standing communist regimes, as I find them very interesting to learn about. Its always fascinating to experience places stuck in time that have remained unchanged despite major globalisation in all other places in the world. After dreaming about Cuba holidays for a while, I decided to call up my parents and invited them to join me. They love to learn about new places and will find Cuba a very curious place to explore. I feel like my parents are going to want to come with me to Cuba because they are wonderful people who simply love travelling.
They always brought me along to different countries when I was younger, but I grew older and had my own life and kids to take care of. I feel like I owe it to my parents to take them to an interesting place once in a while so that we can all share quality time as a family, my parents love being around their grandchildren my children love being spoilt by their doting grandparents. A trip to Cuba will definitely be something that we all can enjoy. I am so happy that there are things in life that I can actually do with my parents again. They might not be up for running around the park, but they certainly will travel with me. I will carefully plan out what we will be doing in Cuba. After all, I am sure that my parents will be more likely to enjoy the gentle walking and sightseeing activities.
As for us; and by that I mean my wife and my children, we will probably relax in a beach resort for a few days and then all head to Havana to absorb the culture, join my parents and have our kids learn about the place they visit. My folks dont enjoy the beach as much as they used to nowadays and prefer to be out and about, they would much rather be in a city hotel with a pool than in a beach resort where theres no activity for the elderly to enjoy beside bathing. They are the cosmopolitan type of travellers, and they much prefer to hit a dancing club in Havana for a few cha cha cha steps than lying in a beach lounger sipping a mojito. If throughout their travels I learnt something as a kid, is that when travelling my parents are unstoppable and definitely not the beach bum kind.
